Cooking Vegetarian Thai Recipes at Home

Thai food is famous food in all over the world. Thai food offer various dishes flavored with spice, sauce. For a vegetarian it is difficult to eat these Thai food in a restaurant because the sauce used in cooking is fish sauce or oyster sauce. But you can make your own vegetarian Thai recipes at home without any difficulty.

Soak the spring roll wrappers in cold water for ten to twenty seconds, or until you can bend them. Spoon some of the mixture into each spring roll wrapper and roll. Serve with some soy sauce to dip your Thai spring rolls.

The other choice in Thai recipe is Pad Thai recipe. It is very easy to cook and take few minutes. You need few fresh vegetables like mushroom, carrots, beans, green cabbage etc., scrabbled eggs, tofu and boiled noodles. Boil the noodles and beans properly drain well under cold water. Take a pan pour some oil and fry all the vegetables. Mix scrabbled eggs, soys sauce with pad Thai noodles and vegetables. Toss together add lemon juice for more flavor. Serve hot.

Next Thai recipe that you can cook, veg Thai green curry at home. The ingredients required are Thai curry paste that can be purchased from any grocery store. Pour some oil in a frying pan and fry the curry paste with other ingredients like ginger, garlic, onion. Add some coconut milk and then fry for few minutes. Now add tofu in it and cook for few minutes so that flavor is completely blend. Garnish with basil leaves and with spring onions. Serve with rice, noodles.

You can use tofu and soys sauce as a substitution in any Thai recipe that you want to cook at home. Use tofu instead of meat and soys sauce instead of fish sauce or oyster sauce. Adding more chillies you can add more flavor in your vegetarian Thai recipes without using meat.

Green Sherbert Punch

Ingredients: 2 liters of ginger ale, 1 gallon lime sherbet.

In a large punch bowl, mix in sherbet, add ginger ale to taste.

Yellow is a good stand-by and many people choose either orange sherbet or pineapple for both color and taste.

You need to repeat the same procedure until the top of glass is filled. In order to enhance its taste you can garnish it with sprig of fresh mint.

Banana Shake

This recipe takes only 10-15 minutes. For preparing a yummy shake firs peel off three bananas and then put into a blander machine along with one glass of milk , three tea spoons of fresh cream and two tea spoons of sugar. Now turn on the blander for 5 minutes. Take a glass and pour this shake in it. Serve it after adding crushed ice.

Paleo Cooking Oil Animal Free

Paleo Diet allowed meat, poultry, fish, eggs, vegetables and fruits. Paleo cooking, baking and frying uses plant oils.  Majority of vegetable oils are unsaturated. Coconut a food ingredient used many Paleo recipes has saturated fats. Review: Unsaturated Fats, Trans Fats, Omega-3 fatty acids and Saturated Fats.

Unsaturated fats tend to be liquid at room temperature. There are two types of unsaturated fats monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. Unsaturated fats lower cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in the blood. Unsaturated fats: avocados, nuts, vegetable oil, flax seed oils and olive oil. Meat contains both saturated and unsaturated fats. Unsaturated fats lower risks of heart diseases.

Trans Fats or hydrogenated fats used to extend life of food products (cookies, cakes, pies, French fries, margarine and donuts).  Made by chemical processing, called partial hydrogenation. Trans fats are unsaturated fats but can raise cholesterol levels (bad cholesterol) and lower cholesterol levels (good cholesterol). Additionally, Trans fats raise triglyceride (blood sugar) levels in the blood. Paleo Diet avoids trans-fats.

Omega-3 fatty acids

Important for healthy body. The body does not produce Omega-3. Good sources for omega-3: cold water fish, walnuts and flax seed.  Omega-3 strengthens body’s immune system and reduces risks of heart diseases.

Saturated fats found in animal produces: meat, dairy and eggs. Saturated fats also found some plants: coconuts, palm and palm kernel oils. Saturated fats tend to be solid at room temperate. Saturated fats considered bad fats rises cholesterol levels. High cholesterol levels can result in high blood pressure and heart diseases. Some diet circles, suggest saturated fats as versus to trans fats. 

Pale Cooking Oils

Olive Oil

Derived from the olive. Olive oil is used extensively in Mediterranean cooking. Extra Virgin Oil 100% from olive oil has most superior taste. Not recommended to cook at high temperatures. High heat decreases olive oil’s taste and nutritional values. Recommended for salad dressings, marinades and sauces.  Combined with vinegar can be used as bread dip (alternative to dairy butter). Unsaturated fat.

Walnut Oil

Combined with lemon juice can be excellent salad dressing on kale or spinach. Not recommended to be in high heat only low smoke points. Unsaturated fat.

Coconut Oil

Plant based saturated fat. Tropical plant every part of coconut except for shell has nutritional value, coconut meat, coconut milk and coconut oil. Oil can be used to grease casserole, baking dishes, fry fish or chicken, stir fry and sauté. Coconut milk used as ingredients in ice cream and shakes. High smoke point with a shelf life of approximately 2 years. Coconut meat, milk and oil used in many Paleo recipes.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil unsaturated fat. High smoke point similar to coconut oil. Combine with favorite spice and herb for salad dressing. Marinade grilled meat, fish or chicken combined spices and avocado oil

Grape seed Oil

Grape seed oil has a moderate cooking point. Used in some Paleo baking, sauté, and stir fry recipes.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, PG, May 22 – Ben Stiller is back as a security guard who must deal with all too realistic museum displays: this time in DC. With cast of name stars, this one should be fine if your youngsters liked the first movie and want more.

Up, PG, May 29 – Pixar’s computer animated films are usually a no-question required kid viewing. This one features a grumpy old man voiced by Ed Asner who ties balloons to his house and departs on an aerial adventure.

Land of the Lost, PG-13, June 5 – Will Farrell heads the reboot of this ’70s Saturday morning kid’s classic. Why does a children’s show adaptation have a PG-13 rating? We suspect the dinosaurs get a bit rough and the land gets a bit too creepy. Take caution with the small fry with this one.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, June 3 – The second sequel to the popular animated Ice Age, this one resurrects new animal characters from an earlier era. The trailer looks like great fun. Not yet rated, expect a PG rating, as the first 2 films had.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, PG-13, July 15 – This sixth time out for Harry Potter is a no-miss for the young Potter fan, and promises many new magical moments as the Harry and his friends struggle with adolescence. Many say that the series has become progressively darker and more disturbing, but older kids should enjoy it.

G-Force, PG, July 24 – This new Disney animated offering a heroic team of guinea pig secret agents save the world. Will Arnett appears as live-action leader to cute animated rodents voiced by Nicolas Cage and Penélope Cruz.

Aliens in the Attic, July 31 – Based on Caldecott award winning children’s novel, a group of teens protect a family vacation home from gremlins-like aliens. Features Hanna Montana’s Ashley Tisdale and experienced monster fighter Carter Jenkins (Surface).

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, August 7 – This much hyped action film names an elite team of crimefighters after the classic Mattel toy. It features an impressive cast headed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Sienna Miller. Not yet rated, but look for a hard PG-13 for this one.

Shorts, PG, August 7 – This one looks like another fun special effects filled offering for and about kids from the director of the Spy Kids series. This time a boy creates havoc in the suburbs when he discovers a rock that grants wishes to the holder.

Ponyo, August 14 – Disney adds an all-star voice cast to this anime film by Oscar winning Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki. It tells a fairy tale-like story of a little boy who befriends a goldfish that longs to be a human princess.
